it is very weird coming back and no longer being the clueless freshman on campus. on one side it almost feels like we never left. on the other, it like a whole new ballgame. welcome back everyone!

It's been over a year (May 3, 2005) since Leslie made the first post on this thing. It doesn't seem that long ago. So, yea. Kent State.

If anyone wants to feel really awkward, read the old entries. However, I somewhat miss the innocence of being a naive freshman.

SPARC OHIO 2005
(Students Praying for Awakening and Revival on Campus)

Hello everyone!! Well, I’m honored to inform you that our God has immeasurable power.

On November 4th -5th at Liberty Barn Church (7080 Olentangy River Road Delaware, OH 43015), college students from all over Ohio are meeting to pray and fast for God to intervene in Ohio and cause an awakening. Registration begins at 8:00PM on the 4th, Things will get going with some worship and a speaker at 9:00PM. On Saturday, up by 9AM with more worship, prayer, fellowship, etc and out of the church at 9PM that night. Leaving early or coming late? Come and go as necessary.

I would like to remind us all that this is for ALL students in Ohio who believe in and follow Jesus, and would like to pray for His Spirit to sweep across Ohio and on our campuses with revival and awakening! So please let friends at other campuses know about it and let the word spread like wildfire. If you'd like pre-made flyers to hang up on your campuses or in your area, email ohiosparc@yahoo.com

Our responsibility lies only in providing the opportunity- paving the way- for people to come. We are to be like John the Baptist, making way for the King to move. Remember that our time is now severely limited, as we now only have about a month to get word to the whole state. This is the time in which we must rise to the occasion, it is clutch time- crunch time. 'The time for talk and half measures is over,' as Maximus (Gladiator) would put it.

As if I need to underline it, but prayer is our most valuable weapon, so let's use it for all it's worth!

Can you feel it? God is moving- the time is now, our roles are crucial. Let's rock and roll!!!!

Sis in JC,
Leanne Wilson

Joel 1:14-15 “14Announce a time of fasting; call the people together for a solemn meeting. Bring the leaders and all the people into the Temple of the LORD your God, and cry out to him there. 15The day of the LORD is on the way, the day when destruction comes from the Almighty. How terrible that day will be!”

So, I don't know how many people actually read the livejournal anymore but in case people still do...I will be performing at the Starbucks just of campus on Friday, September 30th at 7:00. I sing and play acoustic guitar...pretty light hearted, melodic music; you can check some songs out at www.myspace.com/kevinminster. I'd love to have you all there to support me, it should be a good time. Thanks.

I forsee the quick death of this forum if people disappear on us, so I have a question. Are you feeling overwhelmed or underwhelmed with the type and amount of work so far this semester? Are any of you scholarship students who (like me) have a nervous breakdown about anything short of a B+? How are things going, scholastic and otherwise?

whoops... [30 Aug 2005|07:10pm]

Today I was going to my Art History II class and when I got in the building, I saw a girl sitting there by room 202. I looked at her, kinda smiled, and was like, "Art history?" She confirmed, and I sat down next to her. I didn't really think to check. I just sat down and started chatting happily away. When time comes to actually go in the room and get the syllabus, I still don't realize my mistake. I even saw someone I went to school with and started talking with him. Then I start actually reading the handout.

Art History I? Wait. Aren't I enrolled in Art History II? Crap. So I have to get up, put the syllabus back, and hustle over to the correct room, blushing furiously the whole time. Hehe.

Does anyone have any similar stories?

And oh yeah...I think Kyle Miller is in my class but I'm not quite sure?

So, are we still planning an Honors College game night or whatever? I mean, the blastoff starts at 5 and everything, but if it's still on, I'll come. Unless you don't want me to..

How did everyones books discussion and orientation class go? I'm a commuter so i don't have a roommate but I am hearing stories of both good and bad things about living on campus. Does everyone like their new roomies?

i'm guessing a lot of people have left already today - and there's quite a few of you already moved in. i'm moving in between 2 and 4 today (prentice, come visit! room 124 i believe...)
but i'm curious how many of you have cell-phones (and if you're willing to throw your numbers out there).
btw, depending on how late the luau goes, i was itching to watch a movie tonight. i know hitch is going to be shown, but my cousin and i had the fun idea of watching labyrinth. if you haven't seen it - it's an 80s movie, hilarious and, for you music fans, david bowie is in it. really easy to make fun of, but yeah, it's a good time. so if you're interested, give me a call (or just call anyways for fun) > 440-667-1335
